Tahera Rahman has joined NBC 5 KXAS Fort Worth - Dallas as a reporter after KXAN Austin.
Rahman left KXAN in June 2023.
Before Austin, in 2018, Rahman was hired by Local 4 WHBF Rock Island, Illinois which serves the Quad Cities area.
The Hollywood Reporter and many other media outlets covered Rahman's WHBF hiring because she is the first full-time reporter on a mainstream TV station to wear a hijab. She was also featured on NBC's TODAY as a result.
The Loyola University grad interned with the CBS Evening News bureau in Chicago and Al Jazeera English in Doha, Qatar. While a student at Loyola, according to Rahman's LinkedIn account, she was the "First Muslim, as well as first Muslim woman to be editor-in-chief of Loyola University’s newspaper."
She also worked as a producer/host for Radio Islam WCEV 1450 AM Cicero, Illinois which serves the Chicago area.
Texas TV watchers will recognize Rahman's husband, Spectrum News 1 Texas Sports Multimedia Journalist Adam Rossow. The couple recently had a child so lots to celebrate in 2023!
