In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the stations' business and operations. Gurley assumes this position immediately, reporting directly to Abernethy.

In making the announcement, Abernethy stated, "In Jeff's 25+ years at KDFW/KDFI he has demonstrated a superior work ethic and a skill for delivering consistent and high quality results. He is an excellent choice to continue leading a stellar station."

Gurley has been with KDFW/KDFI since 1997. Most recently, he has spent the last 13 years as Vice President and Director of Sales for the duopoly. Gurley began at the stations as the National Sales Manager, and was promoted to Local Sales Manager and, later, Vice President and General Sales Manager.

Before joining the duopoly, he was a Team Manager for Seltel Television in Dallas, TX, a National Account Executive at Petry Television in Dallas TX, a Regional Sales Manager at KOTV Television in Tulsa, OK, and a Local Account Executive at KDAF Television in Dallas, TX. Gurley began his career as a Local Account Executive at KFDM Television in Beaumont, TX. A graduate of Louisiana State University, he holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing.

Gurley added, "I am honored to be the next General Manager of KDFW Fox 4 and KDFI More 27. Growing up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, combined with my 25+-year career at KDFW/KDFI has given me a good understanding of the history of these stations and their strong legacy position in the market. I am looking forward to building on the successes that we've had and growing our strong product across all platforms."
