Matt Dougherty announced his engagement to now fiancée Nancy Gonzalez, Miss Texas USA 2017, in a series of photos taken at the Hotel Galvez in Galveston.

The KHOU 11 Houston reporter posted two photos that said "Looking forward to a lifetime of elevator rides with you" and another with one word of "lucky."
Dougherty joined KHOU 11 in March 2017 after working for WINK News Fort Myers, Florida as a weekend anchor.
The Lone Star EMMY Award winning journalist previously worked for KVIA 7 El Paso where he was an anchor/reporter, Victoria and the Rio Grande Valley.
A Jack J. Valenti School of Communication at the University of Houston grad, Dougherty is also a native Houstonian.
