Telemundo Houston names new sales managers


HOUSTON, TX – April 25, 2023 – Lorena Cavazos has been promoted to Vice President of Sales for Telemundo Houston KTMD-TV. 

She has served the station as Local Sales Manager since 2013. In her new role she will lead and supervise the management and business development efforts of the KTMD sales team to expand the station’s growth and revenues across on-air, digital, and streaming platforms.  She will report directly to Jose Flores, President and General Manager of Telemundo Houston and McAllen.

Cavazos has more than 24 years of experience in the media industry.  She began her career working for several advertising agencies specializing in multicultural advertising, including Bromley Communications in San Antonio and Lopez Negrete Communications in Houston.  Before joining KTMD in 2013 as Local Sales Manager, she served as General Sales Manager at Liberman Broadcasting.

Lorena earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. She started in her new role at KTMD on February 21.

Stephanie Loya has been named Local Sales Manager for Telemundo Houston. She will be responsible for local business development, local sales initiatives, sales promotions and managing a team of account executives to develop growth opportunities to achieve/exceed revenue targets. She will report to the Vice President of Sales.

Loya, who has 20 years of sales and management experience, comes to KTMD from NBCUniversal Local’s Telemundo 40 KTLM-TV in McAllen, TX where she has served as National Sales Manager since 2010. She then took on a dual-station leadership role in 2020 adding National Sales for Telemundo 48 KTDO-TV in El Paso, TX. Prior to that she spent 4 years as Marketing Consultant for KVEO-TV in McAllen.  She began her career as an Account Executive at KTLM in 2003.

Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from University of Texas – Pan American in Edinburg, TX. Her first day at KTMD was April 24.
