Breanna Molloy announced in mid-February 2023 that she is leaving her morning anchor position with KXXV 25 News Waco - Temple - Killeen.
Here is a portion of what Molloy posted to Facebook about leaving local TV news:
"A BIG life update that’s WAY past due:
I will not be returning to anchor the morning show at 25 news!
Instead, I’m taking the opportunity to stay home with the kiddos to enjoy these early years. It’s true — it really does go by so fast!
But I couldn’t leave without saying how thankful I am for the amazing team I worked with. Our production team, producers (shout out Orlando, Chad and Allie) and of course Joey Horta and Josh Johns KXXV KRHD. Waking up at 2 am is rough, but seeing you gave me something to look forward to."
Back in summer 2022, the Good Morning Texas anchor announced she was expecting a baby girl. Sophia arrived in October.
Molloy won a Lone Star EMMY Award in November while on maternity leave. I believe that is her fifth win. She also has been recognized with regional Murrow awards plus more than a dozen Associated Press, Association of Broadcasters, and National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) awards.
Molloy joined KXXV 25 in 2021.
Before that, she worked for WFAA 8 Dallas - Fort Worth where she was as a health photojournalist since 2018.
The Regent University grad previously was a multimedia journalist (MMJ) for WCPO Cincinnati, OH and also for KATC Lafayette, Louisiana before that.
