Alberto Romero left FOX 4 KDFW Dallas


Alberto Romero left the FOX 4 KDFW Dallas - Fort Worth weather department in May 2022.

In October 2022, the two-time combat veteran returned to the military world as a civilian meteorologist at Eglin Air Force Base in the western Florida Panhandle.

Romero joined FOX 4 back in 2018 from CBS19 KYTX Tyler. Before that, he worked for Texas Cable News in Dallas. 

The Fossil Ridge High School grad joined the Air Force which gave him more than 80 semester hours of meteorological college credit.

After deployments to Afghanistan, Romero received an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force.

He went on to earn his degree from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Geoscience.

He interned at WFAA 8.

According to his bio, Romero earned the following awards and recognition:

Army Combat Action Badge, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two Bronze Star Devices, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal with Bronze Star Device, Air Force Overseas Ribbon – Short Tour, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Longevity Service Award, AF NCO PME Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon, Nato Medal – International Security Assistance Force.
