Rusty Garrett, a weather legend in Waco/Temple/Killeen, has announced he is battling cancer.

Rusty Garrett declared cancer free
KTWX 10 reports that its long time weatherman was diagnosed in July 2022 with stage 2 to 3 esophageal cancer.
“We all have to take some wicked turns in life,” Garrett said. “It’s just how you navigate staying in the middle of the road, and that’s what my goal is, to stay positive.”
In 2019, Garrett retired from his three decades as the News 10 chief forecaster. Morning meteorologist Brady Taylor took over for Garrett.
Garrett continues with KWTX on its weekend mornings newscasts.
