The hosts took to social media to let listeners know what was happening to their DFW AM radio show.
Here is a transcription of a video Miles posted on his social accounts:
"Hey, it's Jeff, and I wanted to give you a quick little update. I've had a few people ask through social media. Yesterday was the final show for Miles in the Morning on 98.7 K-LUV.
Listen, these things happen in our industry, in the radio industry, where for whatever reason, sometimes the combination of a show and a radio station don't necessarily come together the way that you hope and the way that you think it's going to.
And unfortunately, that is what happened with our show and K-LUV. And the decision was made that we're not going to be able to continue any further with that.
With that said, it has been an honor, a privilege, and I have had the most fun over the last four years, not only getting to talk to many of you, but also getting to know and creating lifelong friendships with Rebekah Black and Alex Luckey. In every...all the fun that we have had over the last almost four years here at K-LUV.
A huge thank you to Jay, who is our program director, Brian, our market manager, Mike, who's our coach for giving us this opportunity. You know what? They took a chance on what we were doing, and and I'm really thankful for that chance. Sometimes the chance just doesn't work out. And that just is, unfortunately, what happened in this particular case.
Don't know what's yet. What's next yet? I am a little nervous about that, but I will keep you posted on what's going on in the meantime, as we always wrapped up our show. Be intentional with your thoughtfulness and deliberate with your kindness. Have a good night."
I’ve often heard that you’ve never really worked in radio until you’ve been fired. That day was today. Got nothing but ❤️for my @KLUV987 family! So much ❤️ for @KLUVMiles and @ItsAlexLuckey ! It’s been fun! It’s been real! And now I’m out! Also terrible with emotions, so…

In a follow-up tweet, Luckey says he will be on KLUV Sunday through Friday from 7pm to 12am.
Miles took over for Jody Dean in 2018. Dean hosted the KLUV morning show since 2005 replacing Ron Chapman. Black co-hosted with Dean before Miles was hired.
The Lorena, TX born Miles previously worked for:
- WKLB Country 102.5 Boston "Country Mornings with Jeff Miles"
- KCYY Y100 San Antonio morning host
- Q100 Atlanta WWWQ Midday Personality
- 95.5 FM WPLJ New York Midday Personality
Black, a 2004 University of Texas at Austin grad, previously worked as an associate producer for CBS radio.
