Here is what Gonzalez posted on Facebook:

"I’m headed to DALLAS!!!

I can’t thank my 25 News family enough for making the past two years an incredible experience.

Having the opportunity to anchor full time has been a career changing opportunity but the relationships I’ve made while in Waco are something I will cherish forever.

Unfortunately in this business it can be tough to find a good newsroom with people who are not only talented but kind and genuine. I was so blessed to work with people that pushed me to be better, encouraged me on hard days and supported me even on my best. Working for a station that allowed me to show up as me — curls, braids, locs and all has played a huge role in enabling me to be my best self.

25News has nurtured my talent and I’m proud to say I’m not the same anchor that walked in on March 23 2020. To my whole newsroom, thank you for giving me a safe, positive work environment that was forgiving when I made mistakes and rewarding when I did a good job.

And to our Central Texas viewers, thank you for all the sweet messages and comments. I didn’t realize how much of an impact I made here until you all started flooding my Facebook page with farewells. Thank you for choosing me to be your News Anchor!

I love you Central Texas!"

Before KXXV, Gonzalez as a news/sports reporter for KETV Newswatch 7 Omaha, Nebraska.

While earning her master's degree from Northeastern University, Gonzalez worked as an associate producer for WHDH 7 News Boston.

The Kansas City, Missouri native graduated from Denison University.
