WeeatherNation is a streaming weather channel, also available on DISH satellite.
According to Dr. Jim's LinkedIn account, he will manage all weather operations and serve as on-air meteorologist.
In March, Dr. Jim surprised Houston television viewers, and even colleagues at his own station from what I understand, when he announced one night that it would be his last night at FOX 26 after 15 years.
"My family has grown up and they've moved out west and my wife and I are going to head out west and kind of hook back up with our family again," Siebert said on air at the time. "So tonight's my last night. It's a little bittersweet. Don't like that very much at all. So we'll be moving out there to the West. You know, that's where we that's where we grew up, and that's where all of our kids have gone. And so Dr. Debbie and Dr. Jim are going to head out in that direction."
He had been with FOX 26 as chief meteorologist since March of 2007.
Before channel 26 in Houston, Dr. Jim had worked for the following:
- Weather Insight
- KVBC 3 Las Vegas, Nevada
- UNLV
- KOB 4 Albuquerque, New Mexico
- KXXV 25 Waco/Temple/Killeen
- KCEN 6 Waco/Temple/Killeen
- KZTV 10 Corpus Christi
Dr. Siebert earned his Ph.D. Instructional Technologies in Science Education from the University of New Mexico, his master's degree in Earth Science/Meteorology from Baylor University and a BA in Broadcast Communications from Brigham Young University.
