Haley Cihock promoted to KXAN Austin news director
Haley Cihock has been promoted to KXAN Austin news director from assistant news director, a job she has held for nearly six years.
Cihock has been with the Nexstar Media Group, Inc. station nearly 22 years, first starting as a producer, then promoted to executive producer and then in 2016 assistant news director.
The University of Texas at Austin grad interned for WFAA Dallas-Fort Worth's community affairs show "La Vida."
Cihock takes over for Chad Cross who joined CBS Stations in January to take on the senior leader role of Vice President, Content Development for the group's new local news innovation lab based out of CBS 11 KTVT Fort Worth.

Sylvia Villarreal joins KVUE Austin as morning executive producer
Sylvia Villarreal joins KVUE Austin as the TEGNA station's morning executive producer after parting ways with KXXV 25 Waco/Temple/Killeen in December 2021.
Villarreal joined KXXV in 2015 as executive producer and was promoted to assistant news director and then news director in 2020.
Before Waco, Villarreal was an assignments editor for CBS 11 KTVT Dallas-Fort Worth. She previously worked at KBTX 3 Bryan-College Station.
A journalist for nearly three decades, Villarreal has earned honors from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters, EMMYS, Headliners and Edward R. Murrow Awards.
She started in the business after college, first as a videotape editor and then moving to a news producer role.
