WFAA 8 Dallas moved from its Victory Park studios in downtown Dallas after 15 years at the end of 2021, and now we're seeing the new studio located at the station's actual building on Young Street.
The channel 8 anchors gave us our first tour of the new 2022 studio the station staff calls "Studio C."
I think it looks pretty cool, with the blue and orange hues and a ton of flatscreens TVs! This place has enough LED screen walls to make sports bar owner's jealous during the NCAA tournament.
The studio even has a functional second story. Houston TV viewers might recall that kind of luxury in the old KPRC "News 2 Houston" set.
The Dallas Morning News wrote that the new Young Street studio cost an estimated $850,000. Hey, that's probably cheaper than TEGNA renting a separate studio space in Victory Park for another lease! Ouch!
The new studio makes its big Metroplex television debut February 1, 2022 on the WFAA 6pm newscast.
