Brandi Smith checked in on Instagram to let us know she still works at KHOU 11, but hasn't been around lately because she tested positive for COVID-19.
Smith adds this is a breakthrough case since she is fully vaccinated.
The signs of COVID came when she started losing taste and smell. Other than that, she says the other issue is a congested nose.
A couple of weeks ago, Smith posted on Facebook that she was out due to throat issues which were unrelated.
As to when we will see Smith again, well that won't happen until December 17th when her vacation is over.
If you haven't seen Smith on TV as much lately, like on the channel 11 Saturday morning news, that's because she was promoted to digital anchor over the summer.
