Dave and Laura Ward were honored at the 13th Annual True Blue Gala which helps support the Houston Police Foundation.
"Laura and I are so very touched by this kind gesture and recognition," Ward posted to Facebook. "Thank you to the Houston Police Foundation. It means so much!"
A plaque with the couple's image has the following text:
"In appreciation for your dedication to the Houston Police Foundation, for your steadfast belief in our mission, and for your support of the men and women dedicated to protecting the City of Houston.
Through your countless hours of guidance and inspiration you've left an indelible mark on this organization, the Houston Police Department, and the citizens of Houston.
Thank you for helping make the Houston Police Foundation what it is today. We couldn't have done it without you."
That event was held on Friday. Then on Sunday, Dave Ward was also honored at 2021 The Annual Crime Stoppers Gala. Crime Stoppers CEO Rania Mankarious honored Ward for his 40 years of outstanding service with the organization which included tributes from former President George W. Bush, and the late Barbara Bush (a tribute taped in 2015).
