Lena Maria Arango has been named weekend morning meteorologist at FOX 26 Houston, announced station Vice President and News Director, Susan Schiller.

Lena Arango leaves FOX 26 Houston
She will debut as weather anchor for “FOX 26 News Weekend” on Saturdays and Sundays on September 4th and will also contribute to “Houston’s Morning Show” on weekday mornings. Arango will provide weather reports in both English and Spanish for FOX 26’s digital platforms.
In making the announcement, Schiller stated, “Lena Maria brings in-depth knowledge of weather forecasting and climate research, and she’s ready to apply that experience to inform viewers on how to prepare for their daily lives. Whether it’s helping them plan an outdoor birthday party or track severe weather or hurricane, she’s the perfect addition to our strong Gulf Coast Weather Authority team.”
Most recently, Arango has served as weekend morning meteorologist and MMJ for Western Massachusetts News, a CBS/ABC/FOX triopoly in Springfield, MA (known as Lena Dziechowski).
She was previously a research intern for the National Weather Center. While in college, she created weekly forecasts and weather blogs for the University of Massachusetts Lowell Weather Center.
A graduate of University of Massachusetts Lowell, Arango holds a Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science in Environmental Studies Atmospheric Sciences.
Arango added, “I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the FOX 26 family. I love the south, and the warmth of its weather and people. After growing up and starting my career in the northeast, I’m looking forward to trading covering blizzards for covering hurricanes.”
