Houston Public Media is pleased to welcome Derrick Wilson as the Executive Director of Business Operations.
In his new role, Wilson will direct the development, implementation, and administration of business operations for Houston Public Media.
“Derrick Wilson is the best person to take our fiscal and administrative growth to the next level,” said Josh Adams, Station Manager. “As we continue to innovate our content and digital future, I am specifically thrilled to have his leadership and experience. We are excited to welcome him as a key member of the station’s executive team.”
Wilson has more than 20 years of experience specializing in business development, facilities management, and information and instructional technology. In his new role, Wilson aims to grow engagement between Houston Public Media audiences and the suite of multimedia broadcast and online platforms that it offers.
A native of Houston, Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology and a Master of Science degree in management information systems, both from Texas Southern University. A graduate of the American Association of Blacks in Higher Education (AABHE) Leadership and Mentoring Institute, he is currently pursuing his doctorate in educational administration (Ed.D) with a concentration in higher education from TSU as well.
He and his wife, Dr. Tiffany Wilson, enjoy spending time with their four children SaRon, DeAvion, Derrick II and Dallas.
