Jesse Schroeder returns to Texas television news as the KTRE9 News at 6 and 10pm anchor in Lufkin and Nacogdoches.
"Excited to serve the communities of East Texas," Schroeder posted on Facebook.
The new hire allows anchor Jennifer Kielman to stop her fill-in duties on KTRE and return full-time to sister-station KLTV 7's newscast along side Anissa Centers. Both stations are owned by the Gray Media Group.
Schroeder gets back into the TV news game after teaching for the last three years at Denison ISD. He noted in this old clip embedded above, his wife is also a teacher.
Prior to getting back into teaching, Schroeder was the morning anchor/executive producer for News 12 KXII Sherman/Denison from 2014 to 2018.
His first foray into teaching was as an assistant professor/broadcast media adviser for Northwestern Oklahoma State University for eight years.
Before the university, Schroeder was a 10pm producer and reporter for then Drewry Communications flagship station KSWO 7. Let me interject, what other TV site will throw in a Drewry Communications mention these days?
Schroeder broke into the TV biz as an associate producer for KWTV News 9 Oklahoma City in 1999.
