HOUSTON, TX – (December 8, 2020) – The Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded Telemundo Houston / KTMD a total of 14 Lone Star Emmy® Awards during the 18th Annual Lone Star Emmy® Awards Gala held virtually this year on Saturday, December 5.
Telemundo Houston took home several awards including the honor for “Breaking News” coverage. The station’s consumer investigative unit, Telemundo Houston Responde / Investiga, was recognized with two awards while the weather forecast La Autoridad En El Tiempo received a win in the “Weather – News Weathercast” category. Admikditionally, Telemundo Houston’s hurricane preparedness special “El Niño y sus Caprichos” was awarded an Emmy® in the category “Weather Program Special, Feature or Segment.” To watch the four-part special in Spanish, click part 1, part 2, part 3 and part 4. The station was also honored for “Community Service.”
