Robert Hadlock celebrates 30 years at KXAN Austin

KXAN Austin anchor Robert Hadlock is celebrating 30 years with the Austin NBC affiliate.

UPDATE MARCH 2022
Robert Hadlock to leave KXAN Austin

The longtime weeknight anchor on KXAN News at 5, 6 and 10pm newscasts hit the airwaves of the capital of Texas station's 6pm show on August 29, 1990.

According to his station, that makes Hadlock the longest continuously serving news anchor in Austin television.

On tonight's early evening news, anchor Sydney Benter stopped the show for surprise messages from Hadlock's past co-anchors.

You can see those messages from former KXAN anchors like Shannon Wolfson, Stacie Schaible, Sally Holiday, Leslie Rhode and Michelle Valles.

Hadlock's bio shows that he is one of those anchors that likes to go to the major stories.

From the 1993 Branch Davidian standoff to New York City in the aftermath of the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, Hadlock as personally reported on the big news that has affected our nation.

Hadlock previously worked as an anchor and reporter at KCRA Sacramento, KSLA Shreveport, LA, KPLC Lake Charles, LA and KVUE Austin.

Congratulations.
