Mark Silberstein joins KRIS Corpus Christi

Mark Silberstein is the new Senior Director of Local Media Content for KRIS 6 Corpus Christi according to his socials.

Before KRIS, Silberstein was senior producer of WNEM TV5 Bay City, Michigan for nearly 6 years.

He also served in news management for WETM Elmira, NY and KSLA News 12 Shreveport, LA as news director and assistant news/content director respectively. Before that, he was the managing editor for WOIO Cleveland/Akron, Ohio.

Silberstein earned his news chops as an assignments manager at just stations such as:
WLVI Boston
WJAR Providence, Rhode Island
WPRI Providence, Rhode Island
WLNE Providence, Rhode Island
KSNW Wichita, Kansas
WILX Lansing, Michigan

KRIS has seen a lot of change this year.

President and GM Greg McAlister left the station last December. Recently McAlister was working 85 miles as the interim GM for KAVU Victoria.

Ramon J. Pineda took over as KRIS vice president and general manager in late June.

In July, I blogged how morning noon news anchor Mike Gillaspia, morning Meteorologist Maclovio Perez and MMJ Catherine McGinty all left the NBC affiliate.

The reason for the KRIS job moves? One would guess the fact The E.W. Scripps Company bought KRIS in 2018 from Cordillera Communications and officially taking control in 2019.
