Cox Media Group says Kline's run generated over $200K to benefit pediatric cancer patients. With the help of his teammates, while battling injury and sub-zero temps, Kevin completed the 302-mile journey on The Dalton Highway in nine days. He physically ran 239.2 miles and crossed the finish line on his 50th birthday with an eight pound backpack filled with the names of nearly 1,800 pediatric cancer patients.
“While my solo attempt at The Dalton didn't go as planned, the mission to deliver the names of 1,856 childhood cancer warriors to the top of the world was completed thanks to selfless, giving and compassionate teammates,” Kline said.
A documentary of The Delivering Hope Run will be released in 2020.

Country music radio station, KKBQ-FM, The New 93Q’s morning show host, Kevin Kline, will attempt a 300-mile run in Alaska’s deadly Arctic Circle to raise money for pediatric cancer patients at Texas Children’s Hospital on behalf of the non-profit he founded in 2006, The Snowdrop Foundation.
On November 16, 2019, eight (8) days before his 50th birthday, Kline, an ultra-runner, will set out to become the first recorded person in history to run the northernmost 300 miles of The Dalton Highway (The Dalton) ...in winter. He will run with a backpack filled with names and pictures of 1,750 pediatric cancer patients weighing over seven (7) pounds.
The run starts at the Arctic Circle, mile 115 of The Dalton, and ends in Deadhorse, AK, near the edge of the Arctic Ocean. It is recognized as the single most dangerous road in America, and the 10th most dangerous road in the world.
“Words can’t describe how proud I am of Kevin and the endeavor he’s undertaking.” says Johnny Chiang, Director of Operations for Cox Media Group (CMG) Houston. “This is beyond doing good in your community, which we as broadcasters have pledged to do. This is humanity at its best.”
To date, Kline has run over 175 marathons and ultra-marathons and raised over $1.8M for the benefit of Texas Children’s Hospital’s pediatric patients and cancer research. Kline is available for local media interviews before and after the Delivering Hope run, which is scheduled to complete by the 24 th.
“This run mirrors the hardships of isolation and hostility that childhood cancer patients face,” states Kline. “To have my family at Cox Media Group back this run through donations and ongoing marketing support shows how committed it is to its employees and the community.”
