KPRC 2 has expanded its KPRC 2 News at 4 p.m., anchored by Keith Garvin & Christine Noël, to one full hour starting Monday, September 23. The extended newscast will leadoff a two and a half hour news block with KPRC 2 News at 4, KPRC 2 News at 5, NBC Nightly News at 5:30, and KPRC 2 News at 6.
The new newscast will feature an expanded focus on community, health, lifestyle and digital trending stories, along with extensive weather, traffic and coverage of the news of the day. Consumer news will be another key focus of the newscast, with a new Consumer Reporter to soon be named.
The new, hour-long newscast will also provide KPRC 2 the opportunity to spotlight the shared chemistry between Garvin and Noël as they take a more in-depth look at the subjects Houstonians and Southeast Texans are talking about.
“The expansion of our KPRC 2 News at 4 feels like a logical progression for us,” says KPRC 2 Vice President/General Manager Jerry Martin. “This will provide us the time to dig deeper into stories affecting our communities.”
