abc13 KTRK anchor Art Rascon returned to the channel 13 news desk Tuesday after being released from the hospital Friday afternoon. He was admitted the day before.
He first posted Thursday morning about collapsing while getting out of bed.
"Life Happens. Because I live a very public life, I want to let you know what happened early this morning. After getting out of bed I collapsed three separate times for unknown reasons. Folks here at Memorial Hermann are taking good care of me, taking tests and looking into it. They have been terrific! I’ll give an update soon. Thanks for your prayers."
The next day on Friday afternoon, Rascon gave us an update.
Specialists here say the likely reason for the collapse was a combination of a low rest heart rate and low blood pressure. Nothing wrong with this but if I get out of bed and feel dizzy, I immediately need to lay down and not push myself.
But all is well and I am grateful for that! Again, thank you for your thoughts, your prayers, and your concern! And I thank the incredible staff of Memorial Hermann Hospital for their excellent care!
AN UPDATE LATER IN THE DAY ON THURSDAY
In 2016, Rascon was hospitalized after being bitten by a copperhead snake in his driveway.
