KHOU 11 has announced a sports anchor to replace Pablo Alsina who left the TEGNA station earlier this summer. Jason Bristol from WHP Harrisburg, PA is will be taking over the role and he is quite accomplished according to his bio.
Bristol has been the WHP sports director for almost 11 years. While there he received the following honors:
-20-time Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award Winner
-2014 Edward R. Murrow Regional Award Winner, Feature Reporting, "6-year-old Motorcycle Champ"
-2009 Edward R. Murrow Regional Award Winner, Continuing Coverage, "Harrisburg's Hall of Shame"
-Numerous 1st place awards, Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association
Before WHP, Bristol was a sports anchor for the Empire Sports network for almost two years. Prior to that he was a sports anchor/reporter at WSTM Syracuse, NY. He is a graduate of the State University of New York College at Oswego.

HOUSTON –– KHOU 11, Houston’s CBS affiliate, announced Wednesday that Jason Bristol has been hired as the new sports anchor for KHOU 11 News. Bristol will be seen on air beginning in early October. He will appear weekdays on KHOU 11 News and he will host KHOU 11 Sports Extra on Sunday nights.
Jason has won twenty Mid-Atlantic Emmy awards and three Edward R. Murrow Regional awards as a sports reporter and anchor. The Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association awarded him first place in sports casting three years in a row. Bristol graduated from State University of New York at Oswego with a degree in broadcast and mass communications.
“We are so pleased to welcome Jason to KHOU. We believe his passion for sports, in combination with his top-notch journalistic and investigative skills, will make him a great addition to our newsroom,” said Susan McEldoon President and General Manager of KHOU 11.
Jason will give Houstonians more than just sports scores and highlights. He has a proven track record of producing original, compelling sports news stories and investigations for over 15 years.
