Bob Presley
Bob Presley, 78, who longtime Houston radio listeners and media watchers will know from KILT radio, passed away a few days ago in Sugar Land.

Born in Clarksville, TX, the future Texas Radio Hall of Famer got bitten by the broadcasting bug when he did a fill-in announcing gig one night at the Texas Tech University student station according to his obituary.

That fateful night led him to a 42 year gig at radio stations in Austin, Dallas and Houston. In the mid-1960s, Houston radio listeners would hear him on 610 KILT from noon to 3pm weekdays. Future KTRK abc13 sports anchor Dan Lovett was his newsman.

Presley later moved to the other side of the microphone and joined the station's sales team. He rose in the ranks to become the Vice President and General Sales Manager of KILT-AM/FM and KIKK-AM/FM or 26 years.

A funeral service will be held at the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Chapel, 13223 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX, Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 4:00, with viewing starting at 3:00.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Bob Presley Scholarship Fund for the Master of Arts in Christian Counseling at Houston Baptist University (Houston Baptist University, Office of Advancement, 7502 Fondren, Houston, TX 77074, C/O Jan Danvers or call (281) 649-3348).
