I told you in early January that channel 11 anchor Rekha Muddaraj was taking off from KHOU weekends for maternity leave.

In late January, KHOU made the announcement that Muddaraj's daughter had arrived:

Help us welcome Rekha Muddaraj KHOU's precious bundle of joy to the world, Lara Anika Badlani!! Isn't she gorgeous? smile emoticon
Lara was born Tuesday at 6 lbs, 7 oz and 21 inches long. Congrats to you and your family, Rekha!

Readers asked who was going to fill-in on the KHOU weekend anchor desk? KHOU 11 Executive News Director Philip Bruce told mikemcguff.com the substitute gig is going to reporters Lauren Talarico, Grace White and Malini Basu.
