Houston, the Astrodome, The Texas Medical Center and NASA preserved in time on film from the 1940s to the 1960s

History buffs will like the fact that the newsreel archive British Pathé has uploaded 85,000 of its historic films to YouTube...and Houston, Texas is represented! But based on the number of video views the Houston related videos have so far on the site, I am pretty much debuting them to the world here.

You will see film of Houston and Galveston from the 1940s. Then skip ahead to the 1960s for footage of the Astrodome, The Texas Medical Center and NASA (however NASA is sometimes referred to as the Manned Spacecraft Center).

Some of the footage is of actual news reports, while others will be the raw footage that would later become the story.
