Headliners Foundation of Texas names KHOU 11’s Kevin Reece ‘Best Reporter’ for third consecutive year
The Headliners Foundation of Texas recently announced winners of its Charles E. Green Awards for excellence in journalism, and has chosen KHOU 11 Reporter Kevin Reece as ‘Best Reporter’ for the third consecutive year.
Winners were announced Saturday during the 2013 Texas Associated Press and Broadcasters Convention and Awards Banquet at the Headliners Club in Austin.
Reece joined the KHOU 11 team in September 2007 after working at stations in Seattle, Chattanooga, Tennessee and Eureka, California. During his career, he has been recognized with 21 Emmy wins, as well as many other industry honors, including Associated Press, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Texas Medical Association, the American Cancer Society and Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards.
The Headliners Foundation works in partnership with the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters (TAPB). Each year the TAPB recognizes excellence and achievement in journalism with awards in various categories. Earlier this year, KHOU 11 received 18 TAPB Awards, four of which were Division winners that went on to compete for the Headliners Foundation distinction.
