The team at KHOU 11 took home the honor of News Excellence at the 10th Annual Lone Star EMMY Awards Gala on Saturday night in Dallas. Altogether, KHOU 11 won 13 Lone Star EMMY Awards in various categories – topping all other stations in the Houston market.
“We are obviously extremely proud of our folks who were honored this weekend, as we are of the many nominees who represented our station,” said Phil Bruce, KHOU 11 Executive News Director. “We’re especially proud of the News Excellence Award, which recognizes our entire newsroom and the product we all work on together.”
Of the 13 honors, seven were presented to reporter Kevin Reece, an impressive feat that included awards for General Assignment Report, Spot News, Feature News, Human Interest Story, On-Camera Talent and Writing.
