KTRK Action 13's Marvin Zindler will never be forgotten by Houston TV viewers. Now, his family will start off the Houston area’s first PurpleStride fun run to raise awareness (and funds) for pancreatic cancer research. Mark Zindler, a senior account executive at KLTV in Tyler, will speak at the opening ceremony and then join his sister, Helen Rodgers, and brothers Marvin Jr., Don and Dan on the 5K run/walk.
Marvin's former producer, Lori Reingold, tells me she has signed up in his memory under the name of her friend Susan Bowman. Bowman is a rarity as she is a three and a half year pancreatic cancer survivor who wanted to give back by raising awareness (and funds) to fight this disease.
