Have you ever yelled at the TV weather person, "I bet a high school kid could forecast the weather better than this!" If so, then your unheard diatribe could come true.
Houston-are high school students are competing in a weather forecast competition at the University of Houston. The top weather guessers will be judged by real TV meteorologists in a mock TV weather forecast.
The “Fall Grand Challenge: Weather U” contest will challenge the kids to enter daily forecasts for a week, from Nov. 1-8, accurately predicting the maximum and minimum temperatures, wind speed and general precipitation for the UH campus on the competition website at http://sep.uh.edu/contests/weather-u/.
The TV weather celebrity judges that will make Simon Cowell look like a weak storm front are Mario Gomez from KHOU 11, Khambrel Marshall from KPRC 2 and Justin Horne from KIAH 39.
