I like it when television stations make use of the extra bandwidth provided to them after the big digital transition. Yes, I actually like the .2 (and .3) channels. For those TV viewers without cable, the TV world has greatly expanded. Well it's expanded unless you are a viewer of .2-less duopoly Fox 26 KRIV/20 KTXH...but that's another story.
KHOU 11.2 has been ramping up its airing of .2 exclusive programming with Dynamo soccer coverage and other other shows. The latest show added to its roster is a locally produced baking show with Houston Community College Chef Eddy Van Damme.
Chef Van Damme is a longtime professor of Baking and Pastry Arts in the Lifestyle Arts and Design division at HCC’s Central College. On his show Bake It!, the chef takes viewers on the step-by-step process of making desserts and pastries.
“I think they will find it entertaining, but at the same time they will feel they have learned something new, and how the show has brought something extra to their lives," Van Damme said in a statement.
Bake It! airs Wednesdays at 7:30PM on 11.2. So I expect everyone in Houston reading this to send me some samples of what you have learned from Bake It! and Chef Eddy Van Damme.
