Houston bloggers get a free Ford Fiesta and some wacky missions

It has come to my attention that Houston blogger/PR professional Amber Roussel and photographer @mcaphoto are some of the latest "agents" in the Ford Fiesta Movement. Here is more in Roussel's words:

Ford has selected “Agents” with an entrepreneurial spirit, creative vision and passion to help launch the 2011 Ford Fiesta. Mark & I will be 1 of 20 teams driving Fiestas in different parts of the country for 4 months, plus we might just win the car for good! We’ll share our experiences with the world and give you the real scoop on the car. READ THE REST

Clever marketing by Ford. Lots of social media buzz for the Fiesta product by hosting events like this. The automaker is trying to tap the market that most likely is not exposed to its "business as usual" media blitzes I imagine.

Believe it or not, the same company approached me to participate in this Fiesta Movement event. I was in the middle of trying to get my Mayor Annise Parker social media project together and was already frazzled. Mix that with trying to take care of a 16 month old son and I figured car marketing competitions were not really in my future!

Now if an auto company wants to send me a vehicle to test and blog about my findings I am all for that! Here are the mikemcguff.com reader demographics if you are ready to hand me over the keys for a joy ride test ride.

Congrats to the Houston team and good luck. We'll be watching.
