Texas grocery stores enter a price war

According to an article in the San Antonio Express News via The Houston Chronicle, H-E-B is dropping prices like it's going out of style:

Made in Texas; H-E-B's 100th Anniversary Cookbook
H-E-B lowered prices this week on more than 5,000 items in all of its Texas stores as part of a yearlong campaign to engender customer loyalty.

Shoppers will see savings on diapers, hair care, pet food, laundry detergent and paper towels, company officials said. They'll also see lower prices on meat, produce and deli products, as well as on cereal, snacks and frozen foods. READ THE REST

The article goes on to talk about what Randall's and Kroger have done/are doing price wise. CONTACT: Leave me a Houston or Texas media news tip | COMMENT: Click to leave your thoughts on this post here
