Sunday was the start of the inaugural ride of the Tour du Rouge from the Bayou City to the Crescent City. This six-day, 512 mile ride supports the American Red Cross Chapters along the Gulf Coast from Houston to New Orleans.
Fox 26's Wake Up Money "Accountant to the Stars" Bob Martin was there for the first day of the six days to New Orleans. Bob Martin, Bob Stein and Frank Michel rode from Humble to Dayton with Houston Mayor Bill White and then rode back to Humble for a total of 52 miles. Bob's wife, Carol Martin, completed the entire first day ride of 82 miles from Humble to Beaumont.
The remaining ride consists of Beaumont to Creole (81 miles), Creole to Abbeville (95 miles), Abbeville to Morgan City (77 miles), Morgan City to Gonzales (98 miles) and Gonzales to New Orleans (79 miles).
