Now we know that is not true. The Waco Tribune-Herald reports that London bought competitor Channel 6 KCEN instead:
Officials with the Dallas media company announced late Thursday that they are buying KCEN from Frank Mayborn Enterprisies Inc., which is owned by Sue Mayborn.
The status of London Broadcasting’s plan to purchase another Central Texas station was unclear late Thursday.
In July, the company had announced that it was acquiring Waco ABC affiliate KXXV-TV, Channel 25, as part of a package deal from Drewry Communications. Carl Kornmeyer, London Broadcasting’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, said late Thursday that he could not comment on the status of the acquisition of Channel 25. READ THE REST
I am a bit confused as to how a company could buy both an NBC and ABC affiliate in a market unless one of these stations doesn't reach a lot of people.
