Edouard was quick visitor, TV reaction

Edouard left as quickly as he showed up. That is a good thing.

The Houston Chronicle's Ken Hoffman had a funny blog on the storm.  Others wrote about it too.And hereHere too from the radio perspective.

Naturally there has been a lot of talk on blogs and Twitter about how the media over hyped the storm. Now by no means am I a spokesman for the TV media, but I have thoughts on this.  I believe the TV stations have to stay on because viewers will be tuning in and out for the hours leading up to the storm's arrival. Then they will do the same thing as the storm is overhead and as it leaves.

Imagine if you tuned in before a storm and saw The Price is Right on.  Then the blog talk would be "I can't believe Channel 7 isn't on the air with a storm coming!"

Are there stations around the country who hype weather events up.  Sure.  But I think for Edouard the Houston stations stayed relatively calm and just provided the coverage.
