I'm a huge sports fan...borderline obsessive. I've always wanted to be a sports broadcaster and still covet that job. The man who owns "my" job for that one month time frame is CBS Sports and Houston's own Jim Nantz. Around mid-March, he whisks away to the NCAA tournament to work alongside analyst Billy Packer. After the excitement of heart-stopping games for a couple of weekends, he manages to sit court side and announce the Final Four...quite possibly the best event in sports. Then after Monday night's championship game, he jets to Augusta, Georgia where he leads the Master's coverage. Can anyone disagree with me that Nantz has it made? Is he my favorite announcer? No way...but dude has a rockin' job!
I met good ole Jimmy at the Final Four in Indy. (2000) I've gotta say, the guy seemed pretty full of himself and Billy Packer turned out to be the nicer of the two. However, that didn't detur me from wanting to dethrone Nantz for the best gig in a one month period.
