Greater Houston Preservation Alliance will help the University of Houston celebrate its 80th anniversary with a guided architecture tour of the central campus at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 14. The 90-minute walking tour will highlight UH’s rich history, outstanding architecture and impressive public art.Tour participants will see Art Deco architecture of the 1930s as well as later buildings designed by Houston’s most prominent architects, including John Staub, MacKie & Kamrath, and Alfred C. Finn. Trained guides will also tell the story of the university’s significant, but little-known, role in World War II.
