Suns-Spurs Series Gets More Physical

As I sit here watching the final buzzer sound in Game 4, I realize the Spurs and Suns now officially hate each other. Being an implant here in Houston, I've learned to not like San Antonio and Mavs. Watching former Rocket "Big Shot" Bob give Steve Nash a forearm shiver into the scorers table with less than 20 seconds remaining. That was THE biggest cheap shot of the playoffs. Will Boris Diaw and Amare Stoudemire be out for the next game for coming off the bench? Surely, Horry will be suspended at least one game. I'm interested to see how the Spurs will react. The playoffs are all about momentum and Phoenix clearly has it. Down by down double digits in the fourth quarter, the Suns played with desperation and fury...San Antonio was playing not to lose. I think the Suns will blow out the Spurs in Game 5. (By the way, do they even play basketball in the Eastern Conference?)

On to the Rockets and the Jeff Van Gundy saga. Clearly, it seems like he's not going to come back. So who do the Rockets go after? I've heard rumblings of Rudy T, but I really don't see that happening. Personally, I like Phoenix assistant Marc Iavaroni and his high octane, entertaining style. One thing's certain, those guys that sat on the bench next to the water boy all season long need more playing time. Van Gundy refused to use them, who knows what they could've contributed...too bad we'll never know until there's a change in the guard.

The Astros have finally realized Morgan Ensberg isn't going to snap out of his year long slump. The team has waited and waited...they gave him every opportunity during the first month of the season and his offense never showed. Too bad for Mo'. Mike Lamb is tearing it up. Lamb may not have the glove that Ensberg has at third base, but if he continues to bomb the ball, Morgan will be an after-thought.

Check out the blog on the ABC 13 http://sportsblog.abc13.com/ I've got more thoughts on the Astros.

Tomorrow, I'll weigh in on the Golden State-Utah series. Plus more on Andrei Kirilenko's hair cut.
