The Phoenix Suns had Game 5 in their grasp. San Antonio couldn't miss a shot down the stretch. Bruce Bowen did his best imitation of "Big Shot" Bob, nailing a crucial three pointer with less than 30 seconds to go. David Stern, your wish is coming true. Somehow, the NBA's head man has mastered the art of taking the most entertaining series to 7 games. Last year, it was the NBA Finals. Now, it looks like the Spurs and Suns are heading that way.
So I guaranteed a Suns blowout. That was BEFORE Stoudemire and Diaw got suspended for Game 5. Crappy excuse but it's sort of valid. I was wrong for the first time since the last. Now, to the obvious...the NBA must look at how they give out suspensions for players that "leave the bench during an altercation." That's not a groundbreaking thought, but not having Boris and Amare hurt Phoenix.
Are you happy, Stern? The next time your favorite team gets screwed by the commish...you've been "Sterned."
So, Hunter Pence is pretty damn good. Personally, I thought it was a great idea when the Astros brought him up. The team needed a spark and Pence delivered. I vividly remember his first at bat. Probably because he battled and fought off 10-12 pitches and the fans clapped for him when he made an out. I was a little confused but also clapped. Pence has gone 7-7 with two homers in the last two games. I have to think Houston wouldn't be rocking a four game winning streak without him.
Don't look now but Milwaukee is going Milwaukee on us. They've dropped four in a row...I loved how everyone was drinking the Brew Crew's band wagon malt. Is that Beast Light I smell?
Another note: Section 320 @ Minute Maid is my new favorite section. Great view of the whole field, no blind spots and tickets are only $20 a piece.
