Father Suing Over Cardinals Pitcher Death... Right or Wrong?

I was shocked to learn that the father of St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Josh Hancock was suing Mike Shannon's (former Cardinals great) Restaurant for 'overserving' his son alcohol. Mr. Hancock is also going after the wrecker service, the tow truck driver and the guy who's car was broke down. Oh, yeah...Josh's dad also forgot to mention those plastic road bumps that separate lanes on the highway!?!

Obviously, I can only imagine how tragic is must be to lose a child. Will suing the restaurant/wrecker service/wrecker driver and the man who's car stalled bring your son back? No. Hancock's father must have some compelling evidence that shows his son was allegedly fed drinks non-stop, then drove into the back of a wrecker whose lights were probably flashing, and the guy whose car broke down. One part of me says you need to take accountability for your actions. Let's start at the restaurant. Just because the bartender is keeping your glass full, doesn't mean you must continue pounding drinks. He's a grown man...29 years-old. Maybe Hancock had an underlying problem? I mean, we all know a guy who can sit there, booze it all night and seem perfectly fine. The toxicology report showed Josh Hancock was almost twice the legal limit.

The other part of me thinks if Hancock was falling off his barstool, slurring speech and still "allegedly" gettting served...then Josh's old man may have a case. I don't see how Mr. Hancock can lay any of the blame on the wrecker company/driver and the guy with the busted ride. Just because the attendant was there 15 minutes doesn't mean the car should've already been moved. I won't even get into the part how police say Hancock wasn't wearing a seatbelt or that the chronic was found in his SUV.

Dragging the lawsuit out won't make the pain go away. Getting a bunch of money from Mike Shannon's Restaurant, the wrecker service/driver and the owner of a broke down car won't bring your son back. So why is Mr. Hancock seeking justice? We shall soon find out.
