Houston area company monitors your kid's online chats for free

"When I was a child growing up, my mother told me you have to be worried about the guy in a trench coat in a van, now you have to be worried about the guy in a trench coat with a laptop," said IMSafer founder Brandon Watson.

Watson says IMSafer helps parents monitor their kid's chats on programs like AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), Yahoo! Messenger and MSN Web Messenger at no cost. Monitoring social networking sites like MySpace and Xanga come with an annual $30 fee.
