The Houston-based technology company Podcast Ready has reportedly received a cease-and-desist letter from Apple Computer Inc. The letter requests that the company refrain from using the terms "myPodder" and "Podcast Ready."I might file this under the "any publicity is good publicity" cliche.
Podcast Ready provides software that helps consumers manage their audio and video podcasts independently of Apple's iTunes software. It also works on any mp3 device.
According to the Wired.com blog "Listening Post," Apple's letter arrived the day before Podcast Ready unveiled a new version of its software -- one that works with the iPod.
This cease-and-desist request is the latest in a series of times the company has threatened legal action over the use of the word "pod."
