David Leonhardt of the New York Times writes about Google Trends, a site that appeared one day a few months ago, made a little news and then dropped off. But the article says it sure didn't leave the screens of the marketing companies. John Battelle says search engines capture, "the database of intentions" and that is what Trends exposes:

Sounds like the college kids aren't taking the bait when it comes to music download services reports the Wall Street Journal. Watch out kiddies, the RIAA will send you to detention. And it could be the most costly detention you've ever sat through:
