The following is what happened in my mind as I watched the cable network:
That's strange, there's a guy on there that looks like a guy I interviewed about a month ago.So I jump on the Net to find out more. Couldn't find anything about this on MSNBC.com. But wait a minute, he's also featured in The Christian Science Monitor discussing the same topic from an article printed in mid-June:
Wait a minute, this guy is live via satellite from Houston!
Hey wait, that is Larry Estes, the guy we interviewed and he's talking about the story we did with him.
This story that involved a test we set up with him. A test to monitor his kid's activities on the Internet. He supposedly did not have this program before we had it set up in his home.
Now he's talking about our test with the MSNBC anchor?
This is surreal.
Houston computer software developer Larry Estes and his wife Lisa, who also have three kids (ages 11, 13, and 16), have placed monitoring technology on their computers. The family policy is "zero expectation of privacy" says Mr. Estes, and all computers are face out in an open room. "They can't hide what they are doing," he says.Wow. I'm glad we're so influential.
Here is my podcast where Jeff Ehling talked about this very story. CONTACT: Leave me a Houston or Texas media news tip | COMMENT: Click to leave your thoughts on this post here
