I'm really starting to dig the Almost 30 blog. In one of the latest posts, Nancy writes about the wrong side of the tracks for West U. residents - actually replace tracks with Bissonnet.
She blogs that residents of this ritzy Houston neighborhood seem to think the part of West U. behind the Weslayan shopping center isn't up to par with the rest of the city. I never knew this. Here I went to Lamar High School and never heard of anyone talking about "The Chimney."
I've been to "The Chimney" area. The houses aren't bad. Maybe not as nice as the other side, but either way you're probably dropping at least $400K for a house there - if not more.
A darker part of this story is I believe the serial killer, Angel Maturino Resendez: AKA the Railroad Killer, struck in this area. That was obviously a very tragic event.
