A Motley return w/ video
I'm back in the sack. So last Friday we went to the Motley Crue concert at the Toyota Center. Wow. What a show that was. The wife and I saw them in San Antonio last year and the show was way better here - much tighter. You have to love the Houston audiences too.
Mick Mars is looking much better from a year ago while still battling Ankylosing Spondylitis. He did some amazing work with the guitar. I can honestly say I haven't seen playing like that before.
Tommy Lee even passed out bottles of Jäger to the crowd.
I talked with a bouncer at the Mercury Room the next night and he said Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx showed up after the concert. Wonder what happened there?
Ratt fans will be happy to know original drummer Bobby Blotzer was in attendance at the show. He now lives in Houston. Our friends sat next to him and so did blogger John Little.
The chron said Neil's voice was weak, but obviously reviewer Michael D. Clark hadn't seen the Crue or a solo Vince in the last few years. His voice is much better now. In fact, he can actually sing all of the words again.
While this was no 1989 performance (VIDEO: see Dr. Feelgood era performance), it was not too far off for all the years that have passed by since. CONTACT: Leave me a Houston or Texas media news tip | COMMENT: Click to leave your thoughts on this post here
