So the wife and I made a big mistake Saturday night. We thought we'd head to the new Dolce Vita Pizzeria & Enoteca on Westheimer early so we could beat the crowds. It didn't work. The wait was 1 hour and 45 minutes at 6 pm. We left with the other couples who showed up at the same time we did.
And a word of warning. The place has valet parking so many customers are parking on the street behind hit. That was full so we went to the street parallel to Westheimer which is Avondale. This is a residential street and must have some weird rules about parking because a police officer was doling out parking tickets. When we asked him about it, he acted like he didn't want to be there and was just doing this because some homeowners were complaining about all of the customers parking in front of their houses.
Don't let my negative review dissuade you. I still want to eat there. You can attribute the crowds to recent very positive media coverage. We should have gone as soon as it opened but it looked crowded then so I thought I'd let the buzz cool off - guess I'll have to wait a while longer.
