My wife and I made a big mistake Saturday night. No we didn't try going into downtown Houston. Not really close. What we did is try going to The Galleria. It was insane.
It took several routes to get there. According to the cell phone traffic map, 610 was full so we tried Chimney Rock. No such luck, it was backed up to the feeder. So we turned around, got on Westpark and tried Rice to Sage. A little better till you crossed Richmond.
You knew something was up, because there were actual pedestrians walking along Sage. Seeing groups of people walking down any street in Houston is a rare sight.
Once we pulled up next to the mall, it was very congested with lots of police and promotional trucks. Anyone know what was going on at the Galleria?
It's dated now, but Lance Scott Walker of BarTab has the schedule of All-Star events. There were more than I thought there would be.
